At age 12, I immigrated from Mumbai to the U.S., where I faced years of culture shock and accent bias. Despite being fluent in English, it often felt like I was speaking a different language. I struggled to understand American social norms. I didn’t know how to use vocal variety, humor, or even how body language and eye contact impacted perceptions. Misusing slang or common phrases unknowingly created barriers, and non-verbal signals like the way I dressed or presented myself undermined my confidence.
Without a guide, I navigated these challenges alone. Through years of study, practice, and trial-and-error, I developed communication strategies that empowered me to speak with confidence, command attention, and build authentic connections. Today, as a former video marketing agency owner and a consultant to C-suite executives, I’ve mastered what it takes to communicate with authority. I’ve helped top leaders at global firms tell their stories.
